How combined ratings are computed (approximate)

VA uses a remaining‑efficiency method: start at 100% efficiency and subtract each disability in order from highest to lowest. Finally, round to the nearest 10%.

This tool applies that method and rounds to the nearest 10. It does not automatically apply special rules (e.g., bilateral factor) but you can add that manually to your notes.

Built‑in condition heuristics

For quick estimates without AI, the tool maps severity to typical 38 CFR schedules for common conditions. These are conservative defaults and may not fit every case:
